DJ Khaled Finally Shares The ‘Major Key’ With The Release Of His New Album

Roc Nation

DJ Khaled rode the Snapchat wave to bring his status as hip-hop’s resident motivational speaker to its greatest heights this year as he signed to Roc Nation, landed a spot on Apple Music’s Beats 1 with We the Best Radio, and then parlayed the newfound fame into a label deal with Epic Records. Hell, he even appeared on Nightline and Ellen. Now, all that momentum has culminated with the release on his ninth studio album, Major Key.

The 14-track LP features the previously heard “I Got the Keys” with Jay Z and Future, which Khaled claims was secured by a New York City condo purchase allowing him to get S. Carter’s full attention, as well as the first single “For Free” featuring Drake, and the recent “Holy Key,” featuring a ridiculous verse by Kendrick Lamar and overlooked bars by Big Sean. The Miami DJ also scrolled through his iPhone contact list to land major guest appearances by Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Nas (“Nas Album Done“), J. Cole (“Jermaine’s Interlude“), Nicki Minaj (“Do You Mind“), Jeezy, Rick Ross, and fellow New York neighbors Jadakiss, Fat Joe, and Busta Rhymes.

While Khaled has long made a name for himself by gathering together the biggest and best rappers and producers, he still claims Major Key is his biggest album yet. Frankly, it’s hard to disagree.

Major Key is available to purchase on iTunes and streaming via Apple Music.
